Friends and critics alike said that Taylor is a sharp election-law lawyer, one of the best in the state, and a formidable opponent. They agreed Taylor is courteous in court, eloquent in his arguments and meticulous in his preparation. All marvel at his ability to raise 11 kids – five adopted, six biological – in Brenham, and then drive regularly to Houston to try cases.
